I just want to say a Huge Thank You to You for both of Your books, I have purchased both of them and would recommend them to anyone intrested in any aspect of artwork, Graff and Graff2 both really opened my mind to just how limitless the artform is, and how even the smallest details can really change how a peice looks, one of the biggest things ive only just started to learn and realise after a long time asking myself "what is it that makes a peice look good, look right?" ive realised a major part of that is how the letters and structures within a peice relate to each other, in the same way letters in any given font relate to each other, the book really helped me develop a far greater understanding of the artwork, ive only been drawing/sketching/painting graffiti for 10 months now, and had no previous art experience before at all, i was never confident enough to try and draw anything because i was always very "bad" at it at school, and anything i did looked alot worse than the rest of the class, but then i realised that theres a genuine technique to drawing just about anything, and practicing those techniques are how I develop in my artwork, and i hadnt realised that until I read both of You books so thank You for that, I have much respect for You and how humble You are Scape, and I hope theres a GRAFF 3 sometime in the near future, please contact me on facebook My name is Bill Sweeney, on facebook it is, Bill "itsmeanttobe" Sweeney, much respect to You, Your artworks amazing and unique, I wish You all the best with Your future.
Peace :)

I am a middle school art teacher in Des Moines, IA. My 8th grade students have become very interested in your work. I told them that I would comment on your blog to see if we get an answer from you. They would very much like to respond to you. They are inspired by your work. Thank you for your time.

See, this is "it." You've got it. This is the thing, the magic, exactly what we as arts educators need to tap into every day. We need to figure out how to show everyone how art is important for so many reasons. How it's all around us. How life couldn't go on without it. When they connect with a subject, students WANT to learn. They're HUNGRY for it. We all are. This is how school needs to be all the time. We need to teach the magic.

Thank you for your comment. I do need to build on this concept for sure, maybe dwell more in the area of "vision", how to recognize it, or maybe sharing more tools about it. I do feel pretty strongly about "thinking outside the box", it's something we all have to push in my opinion.

I absolutely love your art project and the theme of artistic vision. Students -- young and old aren't given that kind of advice or instruction enough or even at all. Artistic vision to a student who isn't going to grow up to be an "artist" will most certainly translate your lesson into having a life or career vision.

I applaud you in showing not only great design, but in thinking about art and life outside of the box.
